Sea fishing with a spinning rod is becoming increasingly popular, and Daiwa has developed a completely new series of powerful rods for active lure fishing for halibut, cod, pollack, coalfish, and other strong fish.

The two-piece model at 7'6" (232 cm) is designed for both soft and hard baits. Cast soft jigs for halibut, topwater lures for pollack and coalfish, or jigs for cod. The large rod guides allow knots between monofilament and braided line to pass smoothly, while the triangular foregrip provides a stable and comfortable grip during both casting and fighting. The rod also has a gimbal for use in rod holders.

The lightest model handles lure weights between 120–250 g, while the most powerful handles 180–350 g. For travelers, there is also a three-piece version of the lighter model, perfect for fishing trips to Norway's fjords or Northern Norway's best halibut spots.
