Two-handed

Two-handed rods are longer fly rods, typically 10–15 feet, designed to be used with both hands. They are ideal for fishing for large fish such as salmon and sea trout in large bodies of water. Two-handed rods offer extra reach and power for longer casts and are used with powerful fly reels and lines. Techniques include spey casting and switch casting, which are effective for casting heavy flies and handling large fish.
