Shock leader

A shock leader is an extra strong section of fishing line attached to the end of the main line, just before the lure or hook. It is designed to absorb the significant strain that can occur during powerful casts or when catching strong and aggressive fish. Shock leaders are often used in fishing where heavier lures or long-casting techniques are employed, such as surfcasting or when fishing for larger predatory fish like GT or halibut.
