When is the best season for fishing in the Andaman Islands?

The dry season, approximately November to April, offers the best conditions with calm seas and good conditions for both popping and jigging. During this period, the Andaman Islands are a natural alternative for Swedish anglers who want to exchange winter cold for intensive tropical ocean fishing.

What equipment is needed?

For popping, powerful spinning rods of 7–8 feet with high load capacity, large spinning reels with strong drag, and PE line of 6–8 are recommended. Lures are large poppers and stickbaits weighing 100–200 grams.

For jigging, a jigging rod adapted to the depth, a reel with high line capacity, and jigs in the correct weight class for the area are needed. Spare parts and extra hooks are always good to have.

Sun protection, polarized glasses, and good gloves for line handling are as important as the fishing equipment itself during long days at sea.
