The Netherlands is a sport fishing paradise where you can catch perch over 3 kg, zander over 100 cm, and pike over 120 cm. The large, nutrient-rich waters offer excellent chances for new records.

Our packages focus on big perch. Catches over 45 cm are common, and sometimes perch around 50 cm weighing over 3 kg are landed.

We use the most effective methods for perch fishing: jigging with shads and crawfish, hard lures such as crankbaits and jerkbaits, and chatterbaits when the fish are really active. Our local guides fish daily and know exactly where the fish are.

Fishing in Holland

In the Netherlands, you can fish year-round, but some species have closed seasons to protect spawning: perch and zander from April 1st to May 31st, and pike from March 1st to June 30th. Outside these periods, fishing is open and very productive. Spring and autumn are the hottest for large perch and zander, while late summer often offers really fun pike fishing. Our travel dates are always planned outside the closed seasons and adapted for the best possible fishing.

Fishing in Holland takes place in an extensive network of large lakes, rivers, and canals. The nutrient-rich waters are full of baitfish, causing the perch to grow muscular and reach impressive sizes – sometimes over 50 cm and 3 kg. These waters offer excellent chances of landing a new personal best.

The large lakes can quickly change where the fish are located, sometimes shallow among baitfish schools, sometimes deeper along drop-offs and structures. Rivers and canals offer more flowing fishing where predators are dense but are more selective. If you want to change your focus, it's excellent to target both pike and zander, which also grow very large here.

Our local guides fish every day and know exactly how the fish move throughout the season, which areas have the best activity, and which baits are currently delivering – all to maximize your chances of catching your dream fish.

Full board is included throughout the trip. Days start with breakfast at the hotel and you'll receive a packed lunch to take with you out on the lake. After fishing, a delicious dinner awaits, where you can unwind and recap the day's events. In the Netherlands, we primarily fish for large perch, but there are also excellent opportunities for pike and zander. Perch often hunt in schools and grow large due to an abundance of baitfish and crayfish. Pike thrive in weed-rich areas, while zander often reside in deeper waters along edges and structures.

Common and effective baits include jigs with shads or crayfish imitations, crankbaits, and jerkbaits. Chatterbaits and topwater lures can also deliver when the predatory fish are more active. We always adapt our bait choice to the day's conditions – it is often the key to landing the biggest bites.

What is the weather and climate like?

The climate in Frovåg, Senja, is typical of Northern Norway, with fresh winds, clear air, and changeable weather. During the fishing season from April to September, temperatures usually range between 8 and 18 degrees Celsius – but some days offer brilliant sunshine and over 20 degrees.

When the sun warms the fjords and the sea is calm, fantastic fishing days await. At the same time, the sheltered coves mean it's almost always possible to find good fishing regardless of the weather. It's a good idea to pack layers and waterproof clothing, so you'll be ready for all conditions. The weather can change quickly!
