fish species and bait choice
The Seychelles offers incredibly species-rich fishing where you can target GTs, dogtooth tuna, sailfish, tuna, grouper, and several other tropical predatory fish. Heavy tackle and lures that can really take a beating are essential here.
For popper fishing, we use large poppers weighing between 100-200 grams that create maximum splash and entice GTs from the depths. Stickbaits in sizes 15-25 cm are perfect when fish are feeding on the surface or when you want to present the lure a bit more subtly. Speed and slow jigs in the 200-400 gram class are used at drop-offs and ledges where dogtooth tuna and tuna often wait.
With the right combination of poppers, stickbaits, and jigs, you're ready for the Seychelles' full potential – and to hook the fish that make this destination legendary.
DUO Rough Trail Bubbly 225F Live Saury is backordered and will ship as soon as it is back in stock.

Facts about the country
Facts about the country
Seychelles is an archipelago in the Indian Ocean consisting of 115 islands, known for its white beaches, granite cliffs, and crystal-clear waters. The country has a tropical climate with warm temperatures year-round and rich marine biodiversity, making it one of the world's premier areas for sport fishing.
The main island of Mahé is the hub for international flights and logistics, and the local population is known for its hospitality and relaxed lifestyle. English and French are widely spoken, and the currency is the Seychellois Rupee (SCR).
Is there Wi-Fi available?
Is there Wi-Fi available?
Yes, there is WiFi on board the catamaran. We use Starlink satellite internet, which provides a stable and reliable connection even far out at sea. You can easily stay in touch, share catches, and manage emails during the trip. Coverage may vary depending on your location, but Starlink generally provides very good internet access for most of the journey.
How do you fish in the Seychelles?
How do you fish in the Seychelles?
In the Seychelles, the primary fishing methods are popper fishing, stickbaits, and jigging over reefs, drop-offs, and hunting lanes where GT, dogtooth tuna, and tuna patrol. Poppers weighing 100-200g are used for explosive surface strikes, while stickbaits work perfectly when fish are feeding more cautiously. Speed and slow jigging are very effective for deeper fishing for dogtooth and tuna. Trolling is sometimes used to locate large pelagic species.
The combination of strong tackle, the right lures, and local guides makes the fishing both effective and incredibly exciting.
How are the weather and climate?
How are the weather and climate?
Seychelles has a tropical climate with warm temperatures all year round. During the fishing seasons – October to early December and late February to early May – the weather is usually stable with calmer winds and clear seas, providing perfect conditions for popper fishing and jigging. Rain may occur, but the weather often changes quickly and the sea almost always maintains fishable conditions.
The warm climate and reliable weather patterns are one of the reasons why Seychelles is one of the world's most sought-after destinations for tropical sport fishing.
